is an experienced provider to the Forestry and the Energy Sectors, celebrating over 10 YEARS of service to the Forestry and Petroleum Industries (1995-2005).

Who We Are: (Departments and People)
Paul Folkmann started EZRA Consulting in May 1995, and works primarily out of his Athabasca office. Paul has a B.Sc. Forestry from the University of Alberta (1979) and is Registered Professional Forester #33. He brings 23 years of industrial experience in Forestry, Roads, Operations, Pipelines and Lands Management. He has demonstrated consistent ability to complete projects on time and under budget. He has a record of establishing solid working relationships internally and with representatives from Aboriginal organizations, other industries, and government. Paul is a team oriented manager who has worked in most forestry environments including; international, oil and gas, forest industrial, government, University of Alberta as a Forest Engineering instructor, and as a consultant/contractor. Other than work, he enjoys spending time with his family, helping out with the local chapter of the Trans-Canada Trail Committee, cross-country skiing, hunting and golf.
Sherry Norton is the General Manager of Altus Group Environmental and Forestry, coordinating projects and resources. She began working with EZRA in January 1998. Sherry has worked in all aspects of Landuse and GIS projects at EZRA. Sherry’s experience includes the Forestry Industry in Northern B.C., Saskatchewan and Central Alberta, primarily in silviculture. She acquired her B.Sc. in Forestry from the U of A in 1997 and her RPF in 2000. Sherry obtained her MBA, specializing in the Natural Resource and Energy (NRE) program and MF, Master of Forestry, at the U of A in 2007. Sherry spends her spare time with her husband and sons.
Michaela Jenkins is a Senior Manager who started with Altus in November of 2003. She graduated from NAIT in 2000 with a Forest Technologist Diploma and is an RPFT. Since then, she has gained a broad base of experience with both Licensee and Consultants, focusing strongly on silviculture. Among other duties, she is our client lead for Manning Diversifed Landuse.
Kevin Eberhart began working with Altus in June 2005 in environmental consulting and is our Senior Energy Projects Manager. He obtained a B.Sc.(Honors) in Zoology from the University of Alberta in 1981 and a M.Sc. in Forest Science from the U of A in 1986. He is a member in good standing of both the Alberta Society of Professional Biologists and the College of Alberta Professional Foresters. In addition to a broad background in biological and forest fire research, he has nineteen years experience in the silviculture industry in Alberta.
Melanie Makowecki began at Altus in June 2005 and is a Project Manager, working primarily with ANC Landuse. Melanie graduated from Nait's Forest Technology program in 1998. She has Worked primarily in the Hinton area gaining experience in a variety of fields. Melanie enjoys her time introducing her two children to 'big city life', now that they are living in Edmonton!
David Springer began at Altus in October 2007. He graduated with his BSc. in Forestry from the U of A in April 2007. He is working with us in the field and in the office on various landuse projects. Before joining our team he gained a wide range of forestry experience with Timberline, Canfor and Spray Lake Sawmills. When not hard at work, Dave is most likely fly fishing, at the Oilers game or just spending quality time with his friends and family.
Dana Archibald began at Altus in March 2008 as our Pipeline Project Manager.
Adrienne Maskalyk is a Senior Manager at Altus and started here in August of 2003. She started her forestry career with a Bachelor of Science in Forestry from the University of British Columbia. After gaining some forestry experience in BC, and some overseas travel, she moved to Alberta to take the Applied Bachelor of GIS degree at SAIT. From here, she worked as a GIS/Mapping Technician with Alberta Land and Forest. She successfully earned her R.P.F. status in July 2004. After work she enjoys playing Ultimate Frisbee.
Joe Meaney began at Altus in June 2005 and is our GIS Project Manager. He began his forestry career through a Forest Technician Diploma from the College of the North Atlantic in Newfoundland (2000). From there he acquired a BSc in Forestry from the University of New Brunswick (2004) and then went on to achieve an Advanced Diploma in GIS from the Centre of Geographic Sciences in Nova Scotia (2005). Joe obtained his R.P.F. status in June of 2007.

Clint McCrea joined Altus in May 1999 and is a Forest Technician. He graduated from Alberta Vocational College in 1993. He's based out of Whitecourt, but works throughout the province on different projects. Clint has worked with us on pipeline projects including timber typing and scaling, shelterbelt evaluations, crew lead on regeneration and brushing surveys, crew lead on NIVMA and PSP plot establishment, block layout, scaling and timber cruising. Clint has also worked with us on permanent and temporary disposition inspections and GPS data collection. Clint is our trained and certified specialist in outdoor and winter survival techniques.
Cheryl Taschuk joined Altus in May 2000 and is based out of Whitecourt. She is a graduated Forest Technologist from NAIT, 1994, and obtained her RPFT in 2006. She's certified and experienced in almost every facet of Forestry Field collection work. Cheryl has worked with us on pipeline projects including timber typing and scaling, crew lead on regeneration and brushing surveys, crew lead on NIVMA and PSP plot establishment, block layout, GPS data collection and timber cruising. Cheryl is also trained in winter and summer survival techniques.
